Pheu Thai backs Yingluck for 2nd term

Senior members of the Pheu Thai Party have agreed to make Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra candidate No 1 on the party list for the next general election, party spokesman Prompong Nopparit said.

The agreement was reached today at a meeting of senior party members, the party's strategy committee and party zone executives.

Mr Prompong said Ms Yingluck would be nominated to stand as prime minister again if the party wins the election because she has shown strong leadership in her current term by making decisions that protect democracy and the general public.

Ms Yingluck's candidacy will be officially confirmed at a party meeting on Dec 11.

Party list candidates for constituency elections are expected to be finalised over next week, Mr Prompong added.

The fact that you believe she runs the PTP is amazing.

My related families and me will vote for her. Her leadership style is not redundant people can understand. She is calm despite fierce challenges before her. She show compassion to her opponents and willing to set aside pride that often cloud judgment. She does not want to see bloodshed and willing to listen contrary to the distortion and untruth of her opponents. The fact that she dissolved the house to avoid bloodshed planned by her opponents shows she works for the Country but not for her power. She will emerge as the most compassionate, able, hardworking, visionary leader of Thailand.

I wouldn't be too proud if a group of terrorists backed me.

I wonder if the Americans monitor all of Thaksins emails and phone calls-now that would be a really interesting Wikileak. No doubt the last call was along the lines of "you either elect her again or you get no more money from me"

A second term? Total arrogance and stupidity. That will guarantee that protests will continue beyond the election and into the second.

What Mr Promtong really meant to say was Yingluck is running again because her brother told PT so, he could not have Thailand being run by anything other than another Shinawatra. He has to recoup his 46 billion if he hasn't already.

TS and his family will never stop. They make to much money off this country. He will keep taking and taking as long as possible. It's just like the leach on your body.

I can't read this kind of stuff from PT anymore. It makes me cringe to hear YS and strong leadership in the same sentence, unless the verb 'to lack' is also used.
