The Democrat Party will hold a general assembly on Dec 16-17 at the Miracle Grand Hotel in Bangkok to elect a new executive committee, party spokesman Chavanond Intarakomalyasut said on Wednesday.

He said in addition to electing 25 executive committee members, six more than the current 19 members, the party will also formulate strategy and implement structural reform.

The party members will also decide whether to field candidates in the general election set for Feb 2.

At the meeting, where they will hold elections, they will decide if they will participate in elections.

Good comment and i believe the only way to win an election is to give people what they want Most: No corruption, justice for all and no debts for centuries to come.Even the rice farmers start to realize the rice scheme cannot go on as it is : there is no more money in the pot, they don't get paid anymore .

Let's get another amendment to the constitution that any MP who resigns from a party to protest can not join another party for a period of 5 years.

It would be madness for the Dems to take part in a new election if the same corrupt PTP crowd are going to participate.

For once be smart. Do what the other`s don`t, do it for reconciliation: Let Abhisit out or at least in the background and distance the party from Suthep and his undemocratic actions. Vote for Chuan Leekpai (one of the best and cleanest politicians of Thailand) as candidate and promise to bring justice to both sides of the political fence and fight corruption. With that alone you might be able to win elections soon. But why do I think that won`t happen?
