THAI brings Smile to Luang Prabang

THAI Smile will launch its maiden flight from Bangkok to Luang Prabang on Sunday to expand its foothold in the Mekong countries.

The sister airline of Thai Airways International will fly four flights a week from Suvarnabhumi airport to the old capital of Laos, which is now the most popular destination for foreign tourists in the country.

The airline will use an Airbus 320-200 on the route, Chokchai Panyayong, senior executive vice president for commercial, said on Wednesday.

Mr Chokchai said the new route will help to expand the airline's network and connect the Mekong sub-region with other destinations as Southeast Asia gears towards the one community concept in 2015.

THAI Smile is a business unit of THAI, servicing secondary routes to supplement the flagship firm's main routes.
