DNA tests confirm Nong Cartoon remains

A skull, hair and human remains found in a deserted area near Sukhumvit 105 have been confirmed to belong to Nong Cartoon, the six-year-old girl missing since the night of Dec 6.

Pol Lt Gen Kamrob Panyakaew, chief of the Office of Forensic Science, said on Wednesday morning that DNA tests matched saliva and oral tissue samples taken from the girl’s father and mother, confirming the remains belonged to their missing daughter.

A man known only as "Nui" was arrested on Sunday and later confessed to raping and murdering the girl, who went missing after her father left her alone in a pickup truck while he and his wife enjoyed a look thong concert on Sukhumvit Soi 105 close to Bearing skytrain station in Bang Na district of Bangkok.
