PTT, Bangchak raise pump prices

PTT and Bangchak Petroleum announced on Tuesday that they are increasing pump prices by 0.60 baht a litre for petrol and gasohol and 0.40 baht per litre for gasohol E85.

Effective early Wednesday morning, Dec 25, the new retail prices of fuel at outlets of PTT and Bangchak outlets in Bangkok and nearby provinces will be 48.05 baht a litre for petrol 95, 40.53 baht for gasohol 95, 38.08 baht for gasohol 91, 35.58 baht for gasohol E20 and 24.28 baht per litre for gasohol E85.

The price of diesel remains unchanged at 29.99 baht a litre in the Bangkok vicinity.

Answer is NO, diesel can't be subsidized, if PTP does so, the party faces dismissal. BP reported on it couple days ago. Maybe there is a way around the law.

Not getting in to the fact that it is already way overpriced based on the price of oil. But if you have been here a while you know that they raise the price just before every holiday period. Get used to it...

Excellent timing! They'll make a lot of extra cash over the New Year period then. Every man and his dog will be driving to the provinces.

What will happen to the subsidized Diesel on 1st. of January ? Are subsidies against the election laws ? Can a caretaker government subsidize Diesel before the election ? Just asking .
