B2m for info on gunmen

Pol Lt Gen Kamronwit Thoopkrachang, the metropolitan police chief, on Sunday offered a reward of 2 million baht for audio and image clips or other evidence which can lead to the arrest of the gunmen who opened fire on police and protesters at the Thai-Japanese sports complex last week, killing two people.

The dead were Pol Sen Sgt Maj Narong Pitisit, who died on Thursday from a bullet wound to the chest, and Network of Students and People for Reform of Thailand (NSPRT) protester Wasu Suchantabut, 30, who succumbed to a gunshot wound early Friday.

An NSPRT security guard was also killed and three others wounded in a pre-dawn attack on Saturday.

Pol Lt Gen Kamronwit offered the reward after People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) leader Suthep Thaugsuban on Saturday night strongly attacked national police chief Adul Saengsingkaew and Pol Lt Gen Kamronwit, accusing them of allowing war weapons to be brought into the capital to hurt the protesters.

"...leader Suthep Thaugsuban ... accusing them of allowing war weapons to be brought into the capital to hurt the protesters." - Does anyone remember Sutheps role in the events of 2010?

Funny you even say that. YS hasn't even spoke about the incident. She has not even bothered to attend to the police hurt and died. This government is showing its true color. They don't care. So I don't think the money is coming from the tax payers. Government are useless. Got too comfortable with corruption. From Government officials to the police. No one can disagree with that. But it has to stop. And it starts now. Thaksin may have brought on a rebirth of Thailand.

The reward should be B20m to make it very attractive and may even cause the gunman to panic with fear, not knowing when he will be betrayed by his friends / relatives. For what is worth use scientific / forensic evidences to gather hard evidences instead of innuendos to no avail.

There were snipers on the roof of a condo inside the compound. If I remember the picture well they were about 10-15 people. According to the md of the army hospital the policeman was shot from the height. Find out who was on that roof and probably you will have the culprit. It is strange that the police went to the military hospital to transfer the body to the police hospital. But the mother refused. Only thoughts.

There are plenty of cctv cameras surrounding that whole area, and covering all the roads leading there. Where they allegedly all turned off, and is this simply a ruse to make sure there are no other media sources that could identify the shooters? I think I would want to post a clip on Youtube before I sold it, just to be safe, as the shooters are professional enough not to have been caught yet, and don't want to be caught. Can the police be trusted. The police usually identify shooters in a few hours at the most in other cases when people get shot. This offering of a reward just doesn't sound right.

It was only a matter of time before the police got the blame. Suthep attacks the police chief for bringing war weapons into Bangkok, I remember him saying at the start of his crusade," the demonstrators will be peaceful ,and no violence",who started the trouble?what do you want the police to do,or say, Do what you want, we won't stop you. I'm sorry, but you are NOT Above the law.
