Phatthalung registration centre blocked

Anti-election protesters have blocked the registration centre for constituency MP candidates in Phatthalung province for the third straight day.

The protesters, led by Charoon Pannarai, locked up the front and back entrance gates of the registration centre at Phatthalung school with keys, preventing officials from performing their duty.

The Phatthalung Provincial Election Committee has temporarily suspended registration today and filed a complaint with police.

Chairmen of the election committees in all three constituencies of the southern province were holding an urgent meeting to discuss the situation.

It was reported the three heads of the committees were expected to announce their resignations  later today.

Again a few hundred protestors holding the entire nation hostage. It's very strange how a few people can have so much power over law enforcement.

Yet another fight for democracy. Any who not support democracy are not aware of Thailand's history, current world events and other history that show democracy is the best way forward. Where two or more set of crooks in power balance the power and challenge each other so better policies start working out. So if a party topples the government by demonstrations and does not compete in elections now or before then at that point in time they are destructive for the country (maybe some exceptions, but not now). So enemy now is the leaders stopping elections. Time before no one should care . Not like Thaksin vote other. Do not protest - CAMPAIGN

Yes, and this Mob as you call it is the biggest against the Shinawatra dictatorship and massive corruption, go and buy a whistle and blow it, you should be against this also.

And what are the police doing? Nothing, if they get involved, they are accused of using violence. Thailand is defiantly going to end up as a dictatorship, all the time a certain man gets his way.

In the past about 8 - 9 years till now, Thailand have several mobs for different agendas, some calling for coups, some for election and democracy, and some for blocking election and appointed government. Like it or not, I believe every Thai has the same answer for which kind of mob have the biggest mass of support, and which kind of mob will prevail in this era, when Thailand is surrounded by the regional and global communities promoting modernization, civilization and democracy. Most importantly, I believe the army and the EC have the same answer in mind too.
