Floods hit Narathiwat's Waeng district

Five villages in three tambons of Narathiwat's Waeng district have been hit by flash floods following two days of continuous rain, reports said.

They are Buke village in tambon Lo Chud, Bang Khud and Tam Sao in tambon Kholo, and To Or and Mai Fat in tambon Kayula.

The five villages are 50-100 centimetres under water, affecting more than 1,000 households altogether. Roads leading to the villages have been flooded, but are still passable.

Preecha Nualnoy, the Waeng district chief, has sent a combined team of police, military and administrative officials to the flood-hit areas to provide assistance for the villagers in trouble.
