Bomb hurled at home of PDRC leader

An explosive device was thrown at the Laksi home of People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) co-leader Issara Somchai in the early hours of Thursday.

The bomb explosion occurred around 2am at the Laksi Villa housing estate residence. No one was hurt.

Mr Issara, who was not home at the time, said he believed the bomb attack was politically motivated and intended to kill him because of his involvement in "anti-Thaksin regime" activities.

Pol Col Charoen Srisasaluck, deputy commander of Metropolitan Police Division 2 and an investigator from Thung Song Hong police station were inspecting the scene.

Whoever is responsible for this is not doing the government any favours.

They are never at home at the time. What is happening? Who is playing these deadly games? Normally I would condemn this attack in the strongest terms possible, but recently I'm a little perturbed. Are some people orchestrating attacks to gain sympathy or are some people out to take out their opponents? Politics is a dirty game they often say, but what the fail to add is that it's also a deadly game. No violence people!

Yet another attack on an empty property. Everytime there is such an event, the target is not at home. Could it be that the attacker does not want to hurt anybody and lies in wait until the target has left before carrying out the evil deed? Or could there be a more obvious explanation?
