Call to donate blood for hurt protesters

The Thai Red Cross Society has asked for urgent blood donations to help protesters injured in a bomb blast on Banthat Thong road.

The Red Cross said on Friday that Chulalongkorn Hospital needs 80 units of blood, Ramathibodi Hospital needs 60 units and Klang Hospital needs 80 units.

The three hospitals are treating 36 protesters injured by the blast as they marched alongside People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) secretary-general Suthep Thaugsuban as part of the 'Bangkok Shutdown' campaign to pressure caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her government to step aside.

What a fire cracker that was.

Well I am not positive however, I believe that these 3 large hospitals can afford 220 units of blood between them without asking for donations. Really this is not a national emergency.Perhaps the hospitals are playing for sympathy and exaggerating the situation. Never the less our hearts go out to injured, and I wish them a speedy recovery.

I am sure they won't donate it by throwing it on Yinglucks house like fanatical terrorists either
