Family of dead protester handed B1m

The family of the protester killed in Friday's Banthat Thong Road grenade attack has been handed one million baht financial assistance by the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC).

Prakong Chuchan, 46, a resident of Nakhon Si Thammarat, was pronounced dead at Ramathibodi hospital early Saturday. A further 36 protesters were injured in the blast which rocked anti-government protests on Friday.

The money was handed to Prakong’s wife by PDRC co-leader Putthipong Punnakan, who visited her at Ramathibodi Hospital to offer the family moral support on Saturday.

The PDRC will also pay all expenses incurred during Prakong's treatment at the hospital.

Prakong’s body will be moved to Thepsirin Tharawas temple in Bangkok for religious rites on Sunday, Jan 19.

What exactly is the point here?

Tune in you TV to Bluesky. People donate money to Mr. Suthep and the PDRC constantly. It's called putting your money where your mouth is. And I don't think any of the people making donations would object to giving money to Mr. Prakong's family. That's called having a heart.

A number of pictures have been published, clearly showing people donating money, as well as interviews with donators. Try reading the news.

Very good comment, and now Suthep is looking for answers, I'm sure he can help with that.

Condolences to the family. Where does this group get their money when their accounts were supposed to be frozen?

When we comment, let's comment after reading facts from both sides. Dig deeper that we may realize the reality. Or else... it will be very obvious that we are ignorants. Do we want to be considered as ignorant commenters?

He risked, & unfortuneately lost his life because he wanted change from this corrupt caretaker government. Is that beyond some people's comprehension ?

With money they can buy themselves free from guilt. I really regret Mr. Prakong death. The tragedy is that he gave his life for nothing but to be used for propaganda.

Mr Suthep said openly said that if any violence occured that the protests would be cancelled ,how about keeping your word .Rip to the guy who was killed .

Blue Sky Suthep people turn the widow mourning into the PR stunt, and kept sticking microphone in her face. She didn't really want to talk and was sad. Not only that but they always talk about how Suthep care. It is horrible circus.
