Same grenade type in 2 attacks

The hand grenades used in the attacks on People's Democratic Reform Committee protesters on Banthat Thong road on Friday and at the Victory Monument on Sunday are of the same type, according to Pol Col Kamthorn Uicharoen.

Pol Col Kamthorn, commander of the explosive ordnance disposal police, said the grenades used in the two attacks are of the RDG-5 type, made in Russia or China.

On Jan 17, at least 36 people were injured in the explosion on Banthat Thong road. One of the injured died on Saturday.

Today, the attack at the Victory Monument left 28 injured.

Where did the French get their info. Are the police informed?

With the potential killing power of this type of grenade, they have not been thrown to kill people. They have been expertly thrown to scare people away from joining the protests, as each weekend the numbers have been growing. At each location these were used at, with a different angle, and direction of throwing them lots more people could have easily been killed. This type of grenade has the potential to kill everyone instantly in a 3m circle around the blast point, but this didn't happen as they were not thrown into the middle of the people that WERE close by. Who most wants to scare the protesters away, and doesn't care if they are hurt?

RGD-5s are also the grenades found in possesion of three men and one woman on the same night Abhisit´s house was attacked. Why haven´t we heard anything else from those people? Bangkok Post, please inquire, the public needs to know.

Each type of grenade worldwide has a specific fuse, and detonator unique to that particular grenade type, that is not blown into a million pieces, and they are pretty easy to locate after the grenade explodes. Look at a picture of a RGD-5 grenade (easily found with a google search), and you will see the metal fuse system sticking out (the part with the pin in it), that is not loaded with explosives, and simply blows away from the blast point, usually less than 5m away. It is interesting that this type of grenade can be blown up in Cambodia outside of PnomPhen by tourists for US$50.

You must remember that Hitler is one of Taksin's idols. Just a fact.

The best radio in France(france inter) just announced that the grenade attack on friday is linked to the Democratic party . This would be like what hitler did with the burning of the reichstag( a poor dutch died for it) or with the invasion of poland ( germans dressed in polish soldiers ) Mass manipulation ! Germany invented it !

China supplies Cambodia with a lot of weapons - I'm thinking that's where they are coming from. Of course the protesters didn't drop it at their own feet and try to run - but if Surapong thinks that is a real possibility, I think he should do a demonstration - a lot of questions (and problems) might be solved in one stroke.

I must be really stupid. I can not figure out how they know what specific type of grenade was used as it was already blown into a million pieces and I doubt the professionalism of the BIB. Someone enlighten me please.

Too simplistic, just what the perpetrators want you to believe.

Well only the Reds would put out stories that they themselves would fall for!

No doubt bought in Cambodia by a certain party.

PT and the UDD would have you believe protestors threw grenades at themselves .They would also have you believe the Army burnt down Central World after threatening to burn it down for two months after being camped next to it .I believe the group infamous for violence during political pointing the finger is responsible .
