Many of these dolphins have high levels of mercury. Eat up Japan.

Deer overpopulate the entire country and are at population levels higher than EVER. if some level of hunting was not gone, the death rate would be much higher than it is through disease and natural death. And deer aren't beings with the near intelligence of humans. Sorry, your attempt to place blame where it is not due is a fail.

Legal? Perhaps. Humane and moral? Absolutely not.

This just shows how cold-hearted Asian people can be. It's 2013, and animal rights are practically non-existing. None of the Asian countries is civilized. Not even Japan or Korea. Disgusting!

Are they endangered? I think not. And while I don't like the idea of killing beautiful creatures personally, who is USA to say not to!? America with its hunting of innocent deer and moose. Hypocrites of the highest degree. Oh yeah, and how about calf roping- pretty traumatic for the animals. Etc etc. from iPhone application.

Whales and dolphins are 'civilized' mammals, they are not fish. The killing of these dolphins is totally unethical. It does not matter whether it is traditional way or not, this must be stopped. There is no excuse whatsoever for doing this. As usual, Japan always hide the reality under the carpet. Shame on Japan.

Dolphins are probably more intelligent than those who hunt them. This is disgusting.
Discussion 8 : 20/01/2014 at 08:57 PM
Morality, ethics and political correctness have never been Japan's strong suit.
Discussion 9 : 20/01/2014 at 08:29 PM
Let's hope that compassion prevails and that we get rid of this unnecessary violence - the word "slaughter" is not strong enough to convey the amount of suffering involved. The word "tradition" should not be an excuse for inaction: many horrible things were once traditions, and sadly some still are, yet we can change our ways.

Nonsense that is is for scientific research .They exploit the loop hole that allows for that .They kill whales en mass along with dolphins to eat .
