Army helicopter crash in Nakhon Si

A helicopter of the 4th Army Region crashed while landing at the Vajiravudh military camp in tambon Bang Phun of Muang district of Nakhon Si Thammarat about 7.30pm on Monday, Matichon Online reported.

The helicopter was engulfed in flames after the crash. The tail section hit a pickup truck, which was overturned and also engulfed in the flames.

Lt Prajit Thong-in, the pilot, and Chief Warrant Officer Narongsak Pirompakdi, flight engineer, were not hurt. Both are attached to the aviation company of the 5th Infantry Division.

The two said they were taking the helicopter back from a training flight.  It was scheduled to tale part in a search and rescue drill organised by the Phrom Loke tambon administration organisation  in Muang district today.
