Two nabbed with B8m of payung wood

Two men were arrested early Sunday while delivering blocks of payung or Siamese rosewood taken from Phu Chong Na Yoi National Park in Nachaluay district of Ubon Ratchathani province.

Acting on a tip-off, police led by Pol Col Suthi Sethawong lay in wait at Ban Khum Saen Chani in tambon Phon Sawan and found two men - Jirasak Srisai, 36, and Songkran Intha, 27, both of tambon Nachaluay - delivering 189 blocks of payung wood, each 80cm long and worth about eight million bah.

The police arrested the two and seized the wood, a ploughing machine and pickup truck used in the theft.

Delivering to whom? A prominent figure so he or she will not be charged.

Great arrest by the Thai police - now how about arresting the well known gangs that are illegally transporting stolen dogs across to laos and on to Vietnam . This billion baht a year industry which pays no tax, and risks spreading rabies, and diseases through the consumption of dog meat needs to be stopped too.
