Red-shirts lock anti-graft office

Red-shirt supporters from Nonthaburi have locked the entrance to the office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to prevent commissioners from working.

United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) protesters led by Chavaris Suriya and Suthichai Phodaphol gathered in front of the NACC’s office on Nonthaburi Road in a rally to oppose the authority of the independent agency.

The NACC is currently investigating caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra over alleged dereliction of duty in connection with the rice-pledging scheme.

The protesters locked all entrances to the office with chains and are guarding the area to make sure that no officials are able to get in to work. If anyone wants to access or leave the building, they must seek permission from a UDD guard.

Interfering with the administration of the country is bad enough; locking down a check and balance on abuse of political power enshrined in the Constitution is another matter altogether that even the UDC should be smart enough to disown. If they do not then they should remove the word democracy from their title. If the PM is innocent then she should be able to prove it. UDC, please let the democratic processes and the rule of law run its course. That is democracy. You might be surprised, the NACC could find she does not have a case to answer. Show your faith in the PM and unlock the NACC to do their job.

The protesters never lock doors. They ask the people inside to leave and join them. These Red Shirts are just thugs. The military should come and arrest them or the police. But of course we all know the police are Red Shirts. The fight is coming soon.

Brilliant. The 'boss' openly tells Forbes that the reason why his assets increased by $1 billion (Bt 33 billion) last year was because that amount was returned to him by "The Thai Authorities". No one seems to know which "Thai Authorities", but the NACC was probably getting uncomfortably close. Now the NACC commissioners may have to work from an army base.

Now Mr. Chalerm, don't show any favouritism (breach of Emergency Decree for starters)
Discussion 7 : 26/02/2014 at 06:24 PM
Does it mean they are shutting down the country in an united effort now?
Discussion 8 : 26/02/2014 at 06:09 PM
That;s the job of the police, not the army. Surely this is sedition and treason. so Chalerm and Tarit will issue arrest warrants for them. Maybe simpler if Yingluck just copies her brother and runs away.

They can lock all the buildings they want, but Yingluck is guilty and they know it. She will be convicted.
Discussion 10 : 26/02/2014 at 05:41 PM
There are skeletons out there, but they are trying to stop the NACC officials from opening Yingluck' s cupboard.

So now both the PDRC and UDD, acting in accordance with what they, in their sole discretion, deem to be right, will run around the country shutting down offices, etc. This is essentially what PDRC has been doing for the last several months, so the UDD should also be able to do that as well. Its only fair. Of course this will also destroy Thailand as well, which is why PDRC should not have been allowed to do this in the first place. But now that Pandora's Box has been opened...

Oh the irony !
Discussion 13 : 26/02/2014 at 04:58 PM
Well, the Red is learning from the PDRC for a peaceful rally.
Discussion 14 : 26/02/2014 at 04:45 PM
We will see if the army come out now to remove and see how impartiall they are

You've got to love it. Suthep won't be able to complain about these tactics
