Poll: People back Suthep-PM TV talks

A majority of people agree that caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) leader Suthep Thaugsuban should meet for talks after learning they could get together to try to end the political crisis, according to Suan Dusit Poll.

The poll was conducted on 1,354 people throughout the country between Feb 27-Mar 1.

A large majority, 70.82%, agreed that they should meet for talks because this could possibly lead to an end to the current conflict, 22.77% said they were uncertain about the report which did not give a date or time or the exact form of the talks, while 6.41% disagreed, saying it could widen the conflict.

Most of the respondents, 91.79%, agree that the talks should be televised live, while 8.21% disagree, saying that speaking on TV would make it hard for them to voice their opinions in full.
