Isoc investigating "setting up of forces"

The Internal Security Operations Command has not yet received a report on the setting up of "people's forces" in the North and Northeast, according to Isoc spokesman Col Banpot Poonpian.

Col Banpot said Isoc had only heard about this piece of news and had yet to receive any official reports.

Provincial governors had been instructed to check the news with local people.

The local authorities were expected to report to Isoc on Monday, if it was true.

Col Winthai Suwari, the army deputy spokesman, said army chief Prayuth Chan-ocha, had assigned Isoc to investigate.

The 2nd Army commander had subsequently asked the provincial governors to find out and report to Isoc, he said.
