Senators seek court ruling on Yingluck
Twenty-seven senators on Monday petitioned Senate Speaker Nikom Wairatpanich to ask the Constitution Court to rule whether Yingluck Shinawatra's position as prime minister is still valid under Section 182 (7) of the constitution after the Supreme Administrative Court ordered the reinstatement of Thawil Pliensri as secretary-general of the National Security Council within 45 days.

The 27 senators, led by Paiboon Nititawan, said Mr Yingluck might have violated Section 268 of the constitution in connection with the transfer of Mr Thawil.
The petition was accepted by second deputy Senate speaker Anant Ariyachaipanich on Mr Nikom's behalf.
Mr Anant said he would quickly examine the petition. If its format and signatories were verified, the petition would be forwarded to the Constitution Court for consideration.
