Haze poses health risks in North

Haze from bushfires has increased health risks in downtown Chiang Mai, according to local authorities.

Ubonrat Kongkrapan, of the provincial public relations office, said on Saturday that the haze situation was the worst in recent years.

The level of particulate matter (PM10) at the city hall was measured at 129 microgrammes per cubic metre, and the Yupparaj Wattayalai School in Muang district at 140, above the acceptable PM10 level of 120microgrammes per cubic metre. She said health warning has been issued for people and tourists who spend time outdoors.
