Cabinet approves Thawil reinstatement

The caretaker cabinet on Tuesday approved the reinstatement of Thawil Pliensri as secretary-general of the National Security Council (NSC) and the appointment of Lt Gen Paradorn Pattanatabut as prime minister's adviser, deputy government spokeswoman Sunisa Lertpakawat said.

Lt Sunisa said the cabinet resolved to revoke the cabinet resolution of Sept 6, 2011 transferring Mr Thawil to the post of PM's adviser, to enable Mr Thawil's reinstatement as NSC chief.

Lt Gen Paradorn, the outgoing NSC chief, will replace Mr Thawil as PM's adviser.

Today's cabinet resolution on the two positions will be forwarded to the Election Commission for endorsement, and then to His Majesty the King for a royal command.
