Survey: Jaruwan in Bangkok senate lead

Khunying Jaturawan Maintaka comfortably leads other Bangkok senator candidates in Nida's pre-election poll released after the election closed on Sunday.

The survey by the National Institute of Development Administration showed 51.57% of sampled voters have elected the former auditor-general for the Bangkok senate seat, followed by Pol Maj Gen Supisarn Bhakdinarinath, the former Crime Suppression Division chief, with 19.47%.

The survey was conducted from last Wednesday to Saturday by sampling 1,212 eligible voters in Bangkok by phone.

It showed 9.98% of the sample decided not to select any candidate vying to represent Bangkok in the upper house.

The poll closed at 3pm and the Election Commission expects the unofficial results to be announced by 8pm.
