PDRC heading for govt complex

People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) protesters led by Suthep Thaugsuban were heading to the government offices complex on Chaeng Wattana road, reports said on Tuesday morning.

The protesters were travelling on a convoy of mixed vehicles.  From Lumpini Park, they took the expressway from Rama 4 road to Makkasan before proceeding on the second state expressway to the Chaeng Wattana government offices complex.

Their movement caused traffic jams on connected roads.

At the government offices complex, Mr Suthep planned to campaign for government officials to stand by the people on Civil Service Day, which is today.  They would  be asked not to take orders from the government and to only provide services to the people, the report said.

From there, the protesters planned to visit PDRC protesters led by Luang Pu Buddha Issara and camped nearby. Mr Suthep will discuss their next moves with the respected monk.

PDRC guards were despatched ahead of the convoy along the route taken today, to ensure the protesters' safety.
