Another garbage dump fire in Praksa

SAMUT PRAKAN - A fire broke out at a garbage dump covering 150 rai of land in tambon Praksa in Muang district early on Tuesday, sending thick, polluting black and white smoke into the sky, reports said.

The fire is close to another fire-ravaged rubbish dump, which is still burning after a blaze started on March 16.

Six fire engines rushed to the new blaze, but were not able to put out the flames because their hoses could not reach the heart of the fire.

Firefighters were using backhoes to get to the flames, hoping to make use of pools of stagnant water in the area.

The reports said the fire that broke out last month has still not been fully extinguished.
