The increase, a first in more than 10 years, means parents will have to pay 1,000-2,000 baht more for each child from 2,000-3,000 baht now, said secretary general Bundit Sriputtangul.
The new rates will be used by 3,000 schools starting from the 2014 academic year.
The tuition is normally based on a study by the Educational Council Office, which last revised the figures in 2010 .
The adjusted maximum fees are: 14,900 baht for pre-elementary and elementary school, 17,780 baht for junior high and high school and 19,910 to 29,970 baht for vocational high school.
However, 70% of the fees are subsidised. Government officials are also entitled to a child tuition allowance.
There is no tuition fee for public schools.
