BMA reports on public parks projects

City Hall on Monday reported progress in the building of new public parks in Bangkok as part of plans to create more green space for people living the congested capital city.

Treedao Apaiwong, spokeswoman for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, said two more public parks are expected to open in December this year.

One of the parks is under the expressway at Watcharapol intersection in Lat Phrao district, and covers 34 rai of land. It will include the country's first dog park, which was now 85% completed.

The space was specially designed to enable residents and their dogs to relax and exercise together in a designated 4.6 rai open space.

The other park is in Charan Sanitwong Soi 42 in Bang Phlat, and covers three rai.

Ms Treedao said other parks scheduled to open between July and September next year are in Bang Bon (100 rai), in Phetkasem Soi 49 (70 rai), Bung Lam Phai lake in Min Buri (78 rai) and in the compound of Bangkok Land  Development Station in Bang Khunthian (37 rai).
