Noppadon denies 'secret deal'

A legal adviser and close aide to Thaksin Shinawatra, Noppadon Pattama, has denied a report of a secret meeting in England involving the former prime minister's ex-wife and a person representing Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva to discuss ending the political conflict.

Descriptions of two people in the report led to speculation one of them was Korn Chatikavanij of the Democrat Party and the other Khunying Potjaman Na Pombejr, Thaksin's ex-wife.

"There was no such meeting, not in the country or abroad.

"The assumption that Khunying Potjaman was a negotiator is groundless because she has never been involved in politics and has not travelled to England for the past six years," Mr Noppadon said in a message posted on his Facebook page.

Mr Noppadon, however, said that anyone who adheres to the constitution, democratic rule and justice was always welcome to have talks with Thaksin and the Pheu Thai Party.
