Pump prices down Saturday

PTT Plc announced on Friday that it will reduce pump prices by 0.40 baht a litre for gasohol and 0.20 baht for gasohol E85.

The price reduction will take effect from 5am on Saturday.

The new retail prices of fuel at PTT outlets in Bangkok and nearby provinces will be 41.03 baht for gasohol 95, 38.58 baht for gasohol 91, 36.08 baht for gasohol E20, 24.68 for gasohol E85, and 48.95 baht for benzene 95. The price of diesel remains unchanged at 29.99 baht a litre.

The diesel subsidies take the form of reductions in the excise tax and oil fund levy, and were introduced by the Democrat government in 2009. They have been renewed every three months ever since by both the Democrat and Pheu Thai administrations.
