PM arrives at Constitutional Court

Carteaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra arrived at the Constitutional Court on Tuesday morning to defend her transfer of Thawil Pliensri as secretary-general of the National Security Council.

The Constitutional Court is considering a petition filed by Senator Paiboon Nititawan that it rule whether Ms Yingluck has lost her job as premier, and on the status of other cabinet members, under Sections182 (7) and 268 of the constitution in connection with Mr Thawil's transfer, which was found by the Administrative Court to be unfair and unlawful.

Mr Thawil, as a result, has been reinstated as NSC chief.

The court summoned Ms Yingluck, Mr Paiboon, Pol Gen Wichean Potephosree and Mr Thawil to appear before it today to testify.

All four of them had reportedly arrived at the court amid tight security.
