Court grants Chaturon bail

The military court has granted bail to Chaturon Chaisaeng.

He was released on a 400,000-baht bail Friday evening.

The former education minister was charged with violating martial law and Section 116 of the Penal Code on inciting unrest.

He did not report himself to the junta after being summoned in an order and later gave a high-profile anti-coup interview on May 27 at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand where he was taken into custody by soldiers.

Narinpong Jinapak, his lawyer, said as part of the bail conditions, he might not take part in political assembling or inciting unrest in any other way.
