Suvarnabhumi 'ready' for protesters

Suvarnabhumi Airport management has prepared plans to deal with anti-coup protesters if they turn up to demonstrate, director Raweewan Netarakavesana said on Sunday.

"We're ready to work with relevant authorities if people who refuse to comply with the orders of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) enter our premises," Mrs Raweewan said. "We'll ensure smooth handling of passengers."

She said Suvarnabhumi remains operational as normal.

Airport security staff had been instructed to coordinate with police and soldiers to closely oversee security in all areas, she added.
