Curfew lifted in three more areas

The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) Sunday night lifted the curfew in three more tourism-related areas in the East and the South.

The order of NCPO chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha was announced at about 7.30pm Sunday. The curfew was lifted in Koh Chang district in the eastern province of Trat, Hat Yai district in the southern province of Songkhla and Koh Phangan district in the southern province of Surat Thani.

The order took immediate effect.

Last Friday the NCPO lifted the curfew at other tourist destinations - Hua Hin district of Prachuap Khiri Khan, Cha-am district in Phetchaburi, and the whole of Krabi and Phangnga provinces.

Last Wednesday the council eased the curfew in Phuket province, Koh Samui island of Surat Thani and Pattaya City in Chon Buri.

Curfew hours are now set from midnight to 4am.
