CSD wants Khanchai warrant revoked

The Crime Suppression Division will request the Bangkok Military Court to revoke a warrant for the arrest of Khanchai Boonparn, president of Matichon Group, who is sick and unable to report to the National Council for Peace and Order, deputy CSD chief Pol Col Prasopchoke Prommoon said on Monday.

Pol Col Prasopchoke said Thakoon Boonparn, managing director of Matichon Group and son of Mr Khanchai, had sent a doctor's medical certificate and a letter to the CSD explaining that Mr Khanchai had undergone heart surgery at the Bangkok General Hospital and was still under treatment. He was unable to report to the NCPO.

The CSD investigators were convinced that Mr Khanchai had no intention of defying the NCPO's order.

Therefore, the CSD wouod request the Bangkok Military Court to revoke the warrant for Mr Khanchai's arrest, Pol Col Prasopchoke said.

The Military Court earlier on MOnday approved warrants for the arrest of 28 people, including Mr Khanchai, at the CSD's request.
