It should be taken into account that “Thailand must have her own way and depend on herself first”, Gen Prayuth said.  “Keep on solving the problems in our own Thai style.”

He made the comment while chairing an NCPO meeting Tuesday at the Royal Thai Army headquarters on Ratchadamnoen Avenue.

His comment came a day after EU foreign ministers announced that they would curtail diplomatic ties with Bangkok by suspending all official visits and shelving all partnership agreements until the kingdom returns to a democratic regime.

Gen Prayuth said there were currently many urgent matters for consideration and the NCPO must eliminate unnecessary procedures in order to work more effectively.

He also thanked all officials for making progress in the NCPO’s work and their handling of the people’s problems over the past month since the May 22 coup.
