Gunmen attack mosque in Pattani

A villager was killed and an assistant village chief wounded when gunmen attacked a mosque in Panare district of Pattani province early on Monday, Manager Online reported.

While residents of Village Group 2 were performing a religious rite marking the fasting month of Ramadan, a number of militants opened fire at them, killing Uma Salamae and wounding Roning Tohuamuang, the assistant village chief.

Police, military and civilian investigators were inspecting the scene.
