The academic was required to report to the court on July 11, when Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police were to seek court permission for the third time to detain him for another 12 days, until July 23, pending completion of the questioning of witnesses.
Since July 11 is a holiday, he reported to the court on Thursday.
The court approved the CSD's request and at the same time granted Mr Worachet continued release on bail.
Mr Worachet has been charged with defying an order by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) to report to it on June 10.
He did not report to the NCPO on the date and time as specified in the summons, but did report in later on his return from Hong Kong, where he had a prior enagagement.
