No foreigners for reform council

Foreigners will not be invited to join the National Council for Peace and Order's reform council because it considers the issue as an internal affair.

NCPO spokesman Col Werachon Sukondhapatipak said on Thursday that foreign military attaches had proposed that representatives of foreign organisations take part in the national reform council but the NCPO would not agree to it.

He said foreign military attaches made the proposal during an NCPO briefing with them at the army headquarters in Bangkok last Wednesday.

Col Werachon said the NCPO appreciated the proposal but could not accept it for consideration because it was unnecessary to involve an alien party in national solutions and national problems that needed to be handled by Thais.
