National Legislative Assembly opened

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, on behalf of His Majesty the King, opened the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) at the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall in Bangkok about 3.30pm on Thursday.

HRH the Crown Prince told NLA members that they were duty-bound to work out the next permanent constitution and laws for the restoration of democracy, national stability and security for the sake of national and public interest.

HRH the Crown Prince instructed NLA members to complete their duties rightly and quickly.

Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha, chief of the National Council for Peace and Order, led the 197 NLA members to welcome the Crown Prince at the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall before the ceremony.

The NLA is expected to select a president and vice president on Friday.
