The three were crushed under large slaps of concrete in an area described by the emergency team as Zone B. There was no response from any of them. The team is using machinery to lift concrete slabs to recover the victims.
The group was discovered after relief workers spent more than five hours using backhoes to work around a lift shaft and were successful at about 6pm. That paved the way for a search for the five victims believed to remained trapped in that area of rubble.
Monday’s collapse of the six-storey building killed three people and injured 25 others, 19 of whom have been released from hospital, according to authorites.
