Khuk Takham, 60, a Ban Thung Phung villager, was reported missing by the disaster prevention and mitigation office in Thung Chang district after heavy rain caused the Nam Ngob and Nam Lae rivers to overflow, inundating 300 homes, farmland and public utilities in three tambons of Thung Chang district.
Hardest hit were five villages - Ngob Sala, Ngob Nua, Ngob Tai, Ngob Klang and Tai Rom Pho Thong. The Thung Chang-Nan highway also became impassable for a short period.
Things reportedly were returning to normal Wednesday morning. Authorities were assessing damage.
Military personnel and officials of local administration organisations have been deployed in the flood-hit area to provide necessary assistance to villagers.
