Two Mcot board members resign

Two members of the board of the Mass Communication Organisation of Thailand (Mcot) have resigned, possibly to join the new cabinet being formed by Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-cha, reports said.

They are Gen Surasak Kanchanarat, the permanent secretary for defence, and ML Panadda Diskul, the permanent secretary of the PM's office.

Gen Surasak has resigned as Mcot board chairman and ML Panadda as Mcot board member.

Earlier today, four National Legislative Assembly members also resigned.

Their resignations prompted speculation that they might be appointed to the new cabinet.
