Thailand's women's volleyball team continued its solid performance by beating Italy 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-20) in the FIVB World Grand Prix on Sunday.

Thailand's women's volleyball team continued its solid performance by beating Italy 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-20) in the FIVB World Grand Prix on Sunday.

Fresh from handing Turkey a 3-0 whitewash on Saturday, the Thai spikers did it again on Sunday at the packed Hua Mak Indoor Stadium.

Hua Mark Indoor stadium was full and the crowd had plenty to cheer about.

The Thais battled it out with highly-favoured Italy, ending with a straight sets victory for the hosts.

The Thais were powered by captain Pluemjit Thinkaow, who scored a match high of 14 points, and Pimpichaya Kokram, who scored 13 points.

The Thai woman have now beaten three strong teams, Brazil, Turkey and Italy, in straight sets.

Anastasia Guerra led the Italians with 10 points. The Italians have already qualified for the finals to be held in Nanjing. China next month

In another game, Turkey defeated the Dominican Republic 3-0 (25-14, 33-31, 25-23).

The matches wrapped up the three-day Pool H 1 tournament, which saw Thailand end with a won-loss record of 2-1. They were edged by the Dominican Republic 3-2 on Friday.

Thailand remained at 10th in Group 1, led by Serbia.
