Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones are trying to re-ignite the spark in the bedroom _ on screen, of course. Life is giving away five double passes to the sneak preview of Hope Springs this Wednesday.
Kay (Streep) and Arnold (Jones) are a devoted couple, but decades of marriage have left Kay wanting to spice things up and reconnect with her husband.
When she hears of a renowned couple's specialist (Steve Carell) in the small town of Great Hope Springs, she attempts to persuade her sceptical husband, a steadfast man of routine, to get on a plane for a week of marriage therapy. Just convincing the stubborn Arnold to go on the retreat is hard enough _ the real challenge for both of them comes as they shed their bedroom hang-ups and try to rekindle the romantic fire that caused them to fall for each other in the first place.
"As our attention becomes atomised and spread out, it intensifies the longing we have to connect with each other," says Streep. "These questions of intimacy and wanting, yearning, longing to be seen and to be understood and loved is central to our culture."
Hope Springs will be released on Aug 30. To join our preview, send an email to hope.bkkpost@gmail.com telling us your favourite Meryl Streep movie.
The special screening takes place this Wednesday, Aug 22, at SF World Central World at 8pm.
Make sure you're available on that date before sending in your entry.
