Kudos goes to Ariana for organising One Love Manchester and performing alongside some of the world’s biggest names in music to raise funds to help the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing and their families. The pint-sized pop diva will be hitting high notes and whistling tones at IMPACT Arena as part of her Dangerous Woman Tour. Within three studio albums, the American songstress has amassed impressive hits and collabs such as Break Free, Bang Bang (with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj), Love Me Harder (with The Weeknd), Into You and Side by Side (with Nicki Minaj). We can’t wait to hear her vocal gymnastics (which we wonder where it comes from, given her petite frame) live.

We’re long overdue for another performance by the American rock band FooFighters. It was founded in 1994 by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl and the last time they performed here was back in 1996. + When Watched: Gracelee Lawrence Solo Show, Bridge Art Space, Aug 19 – Sep 16

Witness a solo show by artist Gracelee Lawrence when she tries to show viewers how, it would seem, technology has infiltrated how we physically experience the world around us. She is a sculpture artist and artist first and foremost, so we are interested to see how she will roll this out. “For the digitally tethered, life is at the intersection of the virtual and the physical”.

This will be Kma Sirisamphan’s first bronze sculpture solo exhibition. The whole series is derived from personal and shared life experiences, pulling from his perceptions of dealing with growth, success, failure and the seeking for value in life. All the pieces express not only the full range of his cheeky and intellectually subtle language of sculpture but also show his wonderful outlook on creating.

The first solo exhibition by artist Latthapon Korkiatarkul who has a deep interest in creating pieces that extend beyond the traditional rules of composition. The paintings will not only challenge your perception, but may also entice you to question the spaces beyond the rectangular frame.

A gunslinger named Roland Deschain (Elba) from an alternate dimension known as the Mid-World, is the last of his kind. He journeys to reach “The Dark Tower” to protect it from the Man in Black (McConaughey) who wants to destroy the tower which will in turn destroy the universe.

Why watch it?

It’s the official continuation of Stephen King’s highly acclaimed series of novels. But even if you haven’t read any of the books, it’s a gunslinger played by Idris Elba going against a sorcerer played by Matthew McConaughey. Gunslingers, sorcerers, monsters, Elba and McConaughey. Do you need other reasons?

Who’s in it?

Owen Wilson, Armie Hammer, Nathan Fillion, Bonnie Hunt.

What’s it about?

Lightning McQueen (Wilson) is now a seasoned racer, but new kid on the block Jackson Storm (Hammer) is set to dominate the legendary racer. Can McQueen catch up with the changing times and prove he’s still the best racer around?

What’s it about?

After the death of their daughter years earlier, a doll-maker and his wife open their home to a nun and a number of girls from an orphanage that closed down. Their relief is short-lived, however, when Anabelle, the dollmaker’s possessed creation, sets her eyes on tormenting the newcomers.

Why watch it?

Just seeing photos of the doll already scares the crap out of us.
