KHON KAEN -- There's a new attraction at Khon Kaen Zoo in Khao Suan Kwang district - a male baby giraffe, adding to the population of wildlife from Africa, said zoo director Thanachon Kensing on Sunday.

Mr Thanachon said the new male giraffe is the offspring of a father named "Khaen" and a mother called "Chae", who were transferred to Khon Kaen from Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo.

The baby giraffe is healthy and strong.

Khon Kaen Zoo now has three male and two female giraffes, and they are proving to be a major attraction for children.  The zoo's collection of African wildlife also includes two zebras, six kudus and 13 ostriches.

Mr Thanachon said the African wildlife collection can be viewed from the zoo's sky walk.
