Former foreign minister Surakiart Sathirathai has dismissed media reports that he is being considered as a candidate to lead the Pheu Thai Party at the next general election.
Mr Surakiart, who serves as chairman of the Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council (APRC), said he has never been in talks with Pheu Thai over the issue and he has no current interest in politics.
"I've never discussed the issue with anyone from the party. I have no interest in politics or political office. I've long since disassociated myself from politics," he said.
