His Majesty the King endorsed Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s new cabinet on Sunday.
The latest cabinet reshuffle will mark the third time that red-shirt co-leader Jatuporn Prompan has been excluded from the coveted line-up.
Opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said before the reshuffle was royally endorsed that he saw the shake-up in the Yingluck 3 government as a reward and favouritism towards certain politicians rather than to serve the people and solve their problems.
He said, for example, the education portfolio should not be changed so often as it affects the consistency of the country’s educational progress and policies as the task is time consuming.
Mr Abhisit referred to the appointment of legal expert Pongthep Thepkanchana as education minister, replacing Suchart Thada-Thamrongvech.
