India has approved 5-year multiple entry tourist and business visas for Thai nationals with continuous stay of 90 days per visit, the Indian embassy said on Friday.
The new multiple entry visa is available now. Approved applicants using the express visa service would receive it the next working day, the embassy statement said.
Separate immigration counters would be provided at airports for holders of medical visas. The service will initially be available at international airports like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
For e-visas, the duration of each stay in India has been increased from 30 days to 60 days, and the single entry visa has been changed to a double entry e-tourist visa.
E-tourist visas will also be provided at five major Indian ports: Mumbai, Cochin, Goa, Chennai and Mangalore to help tourists arriving on cruise ships.
A 60-day double entry e-business visa with stays of 60 days each trip has also been introduced. A triple entry e-medical visa is available with possible extension of up to six months.
