Social media users hunt attackers in viral video

Another violent incident captured on video has gone viral on Facebook and it is easy to see why.

According to our sister newspaper, Post Today, the Facebook poster “Social Hunter” said the incident took place on Tuesday in the Phra Khanong police district in Bangkok.

In the video, a motorcyclist and pillion rider pulled up alongside a motorcycle with two male students.

The pillion rider had a long knife. As the two students frantically tried to flee, he slashed the student at the back twice before running after the other student.

He soon returned and started kicking and stamping on the first student who was sitting helplessly on the ground, guarded by the motorcycle driver. The attacker then slashed the students’ motorcycle before leaving the scene with his companion.

According to Post Today, Pra Khanong police believe that the attacker is 19-years-old and a former student of a school in the Bang Chak area who was expelled six months ago. They believe the incident is related to a school conflict.

Meanwhile, Social Hunter has asked for information on the two men who carried out the attack and the Facebook post had attracted more than 20,000 shares by Wednesday morning.
