Laser Game shoots for spread

Laser Game Asia, a Bangkok-based laser-shooting simulation game company, has set its sights on expanding its operations in Asia by 2020.

"We aim to open up to 12 branches via franchising in Asia under the Lazgam brand to capitalise on a growing market for indoor lifestyle games," said Benjamin Cherix, a co-founder of Laser Game Asia, the operator of Lazgam.

He said the company, which was founded only a year ago, is in talks with several prospective partners in South Korea, Japan and Singapore.

Following the success of its first wholly owned branch in Bangkok, Laser Game Asia last week opened its second Thai Lazgam location at Central Festival Pattaya Beach. The company invested 20 million baht on the second site.

The 900-square-metre facility in Pattaya is divided into two parts: the foyer for the reception counter and a flexible events space, while over 550 sq m have been built for an immersive futuristic maze within the three-dimensional sci-fi world of lasers, strobe lights and smoke machines.

Sebastian Abad, another co-founder of Laser Game Asia, said the company launched a franchise business under the Lazgam brand through small and medium-sized enterprises earlier this year. The company plans to open its first franchise branch in Koh Samui this June.

"We aim to add outlets from Chiang Mai to Samui, Phuket, Korat, Khon Kaen and Hua Hin," said Mr Cherix.
